We are so pleased to be able to share the good news that our appeal to purchase
Holy Rood House and gardens has been successful and now completed
thanks to the generosity of so many people and grants.
The appeal is still open as we continue to raise funds towards maintenance and refurbishment of our two wonderful, old houses.
‘I look around at the pictures, the garden, the chapel, the sculptures and sense these glorious aspects of Holy Rood are the rainbows its light has created through the veil of tears it has witnessed. What a privilege it has been to reach out and touch that rainbow.’
This Hamamelis mollis was planted in the mid 1980s by Sister Georgiana of the Order of the Holy Rood.
The Community of Holy Rood House and our guests who stay with us during the Autumn continue to enjoy the changing colours, movement and bird life of this tree. We can watch it all from the windows of the house.
